    Conditional Formating (2000)

In the attached spreadsheet I have a leave calendar set up. What I would like to do is use a conditional format that will black out cells A4:I37 if someone puts an organization code in cell G2 other than RRP or RRF. How do I specify cells to black out if those conditions are not met?

    Hello Fuzzbunny2Me

You shouldn't put the conditional formatting in the controlling cell G2, but in the cells A4:I37 to be formatted.

    Select A4:I37.
    Select Format | Conditional Formatting...
In the first dropdown list, select Formula Is.
In the box next to it, enter =NOT(OR($G$2="RRF",$G$2="RRP"))
    Click Format...
In the Font tab, select Black in the Color dropdown list.
In the Patterns tab, click the black color.
    Click OK twice.

    See attached modified workbook.

I didn't think of doing it that way. It works. Thanks.
