    Pivot-table refresh (WXP, O2000)

    Dear all,

I have an Excel workbook with several pivot tables, which get their data from an Access file via Query.

This was all going well until recently.

The time for a refresh has increased all of a sudden from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. This goes together with heavy activities on the hard disk. The task manager tells me that the CPU is hardly used.

I ran repair on the Access database, no change.
Using a different database - same result.
The Access drivers seems to be there.

A new installation of Office did not change anything.
A new query to the same database was also resulting in extremely long time for the creation.

The same program is working on other machines with (more or less) identical files without problems.

Any idea what I can do?

    Thanks in advance

    Wolfgang

It sounds like your hard drive could use some maintenance. Do you see the slowdown in Access or Excel?
