    Run-time '6' Oveflow (Excel XP SP-2)

    Howdy

Currently I have several spreadsheets (about 20) that fluctuate between Excel 2000 and Excel XP. However, they all seem to eventually run into this scenario.

After opening, editing and saving (via XP) with DOCS Open, they receive a Run-time error '6' Overflow error. The I have to evoke End Task to shut down Excel, because it just hangs and hangs.

If I try opening, editing and saving (via XP) without DOCS Open installed, the save might work. However, when I open the file I receive a prompt that it's locked for editing by me. However, I don't have it open and there is a unique file with a name similar to "E5BDD000". I can restart, but I am allegedly editing the file. I can't find any information about this mysterious file. Any ideas?

I can't really comment on the DOCS impact. It is possible, however, that adding its handling abilities to the equation of swapping between xl2K and xlXP may result in instability.

FWIW, if you try renaming E5BDD000 to E5BDD000.xls, you'll very likely find that it's a back-up of your Excel file. In other scenarios, such files were created by Excel as "emergency" back-ups before it crashed. As DOCS is involved, however, I am not sure how that fits into the picture.
