    MS WORKS 4.5

My computer originally came with windows 98,(this is where
I got "MS Works 4.5").I upgraded to Me about 3 years
ago.Last month my hard drive blew, and I had to get new h/d
formatted and reinstalled Me o/s clean. But I had all my
files backed up on a Sony superstation tape.Reinstalled
all files from tape and notice I have "MS Works"in my
program files with all files intack so I opened it in
windows explorer and tried to reinstall it from the
Setup.exe.The setup.exe wants me to install my CD rom of
ms works??? I don't have a cd rom of ms works. It came with
windows 98,and I don't know if it's on the Me o/s cd rom.
Do I put the windows 98 disc in my cd rom drive?Or the Me
disc or neither? Trying to reinstall MS Works from "My programs" file useing Setup.Exe
    Any help would be appreciated.

MS Works is a separate application; it isn't part of either Windows 98 or Windows ME, so you won't find it on the CD-ROM for either of these. It is quite possible that it was originallly pre-installed on your PC by the manufacturer. If you didn't get an installation CD-ROM for MS Works or if you don't have it any more, I fear you're out of luck.

Thanks Hansv,I assumed so. I understand MSWORKS is a stand alone app. and I think the newer version is 7 or 8. Don't use it that much with word anymore but thought I'd try. If I want it back, I'll just have to buy it.
Thank you again for your response,Respectfully,
