    LuxZilla Error

What on earth is a Luxzilla Error?? When I try to synchronise a Vista PDA I get the message: Unable to Open Com ! .
I am using Windows XP. with a PS/2 mouse and modem on Com3. I have even tried to uninstall the mouse as suggested in the Royal PDA Tech notes, but nothing has worked. Please Help!

    Fitzalan--

Searched around including the MKSB and I'll continue to do this, but would you mind going into event viewer by putting "eventvwr.msc" in the run box without the quotes, and looking under Applications and Systems scrolling to the approximate time of the error and see if you can get us any numbered info with the error message or anything else and I'll continue to look and not mention that back in the day when Lex and Godzilla were crossed...

    Re: LuxZilla Error

Checked the eventlog in Systems and Applications but no mention of the error. It appears every time I try to start Vistasync the utility supplied with the PDA. But could not find any information in their help notes or website. They do suggest various actions to deal with Com Port problems but LuxZilla is not mentioned. Unfortunately none of the methods to get the Com port to work has been successful.
Exactly the same error window pops up on my other computer running Windows 98. I have just not been able to get the Vista to synchronise.

Thank you. All my searches kept wanting to change the spelling to Lucilla--Wife of Lucius Verus and sister of Commodus. Lucilla was married to the emperor Lucius Verus in AD 164. I just could not get a handle on that error message.

Sorry I can't offer more specific help. I've found a lot of references to the PDA but am having a tough time finding the manufacturer site--is it Royal Vista? I was hoping to find some forum there that might shed light.

Thanks for your help. I'm beginning to suspect the problem is in the VistaSync.exe file. I have no idea how to go about fixing it.
The Vista portal is: www.royal.com. Support only has a FAQ page, which was not much help to me.

Why not try several System Restore points to before you had the problem?

    Re: LuxZilla Error

I have never got the Vista to synchronise. It came with its own cable and although the PDA says "synchronisation successful" no data is transferred in either direction. Whenever I have attempted to start Vistasync on the PC I get the mini LuxZilla Error panel which says Unable to Open Com Port n ( where n is the number of the port selected in the Setup . I have just about given up on it but still curious to find a fix.

I'm sorry I couldn't find more. I could only seem to find sites that had this PDA for sale without any sites to give me info on problems--I looked.

Thanks for trying. The only support at the royal.com site is this page. Not much help at all. I have tried the suggested fixex for com port problems but without success. I will try to locate a local agent in Australia and see if they can assist.
