    Access Edit Toolbar?

Word has an edit toolbar with a comment button that comments an selected range of code. Does Access has anything like this? How do I comment multiple lines of code quickly?

As far as I know, Access 97 does not have that. However, the new VBA IDE of Access 2000 DOES have it - just turn on the Debug Toolbar and you'll see the controls that you're familiar with from the Word VBA IDE.

    Thanks, Mark.

I hope to moving to 2000 soon. It's nice to know it's there.

Guys, I have no idea what you're talking about. There is a code commenter add-in in Office 2000 but it isn't on any toolbar that I've seen.

    Re: Access Edit Toolbar?

    Hi Charlotte,

Just open the VBA Editor in Access 2000. Turn on the Edit Toolbar and you'll see the "Comment Block" and "Uncomment Block" buttons (to the Right of the "Toggle Breakpoint" button). I can't seem to locate a menu equivalent for them -probably because there is none. The only thing that I don't care for is that it puts the Apostrophe all the way at the 1st column (on the left), rather than immediately adjacent to the line being commented.

I LOVE the Comment Block button! It really saves time - keeps me from having to Down Arrow, Apostrophe, Down Arrow, Apostrophe...etc

    Re: Access Edit Toolbar?

Ah, I see. I've managed to live through every version of Office without ever turning on that toolbar, and your earlier post referred to the debug toolbar. I never block out more than a line or two of code, so I guess I can continue to live without this one.

    Charlotte,
    DOH! <img src=/S/beep.gif border=0 alt=beep width=15 height=15> Sorry about the mixup - I originally said Debug Toolbar, but I meant Edit Toolbar. Thanks for the correction. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15>
