    Two subjects - 1. Underlines & 2. Forum Search (Word 2000)

    1. How do I stop the underline conncecting a short phrase on the left of the page to an unrelated short phrase on the right of the page.

    2. Will the Search facility ever be restored, anyone know?

    1. Your question is unclear as to where and when this happens, but try this: select Format | Font, then select Word Underline (or something like that) from the Underline dropdown list.

    2. The proper place for questions about the functioning of the Lounge is the Lounge Matters forum. Announcements about the absence of search and its possible return can be found in the Words From On High forum.

Re Tabs: If there is a tab between the left and right phrases, maybe there is an underscore leader in that tab stop's setting. This would be marked in Format-Tabs, and could be changed there.

    1. If you are using the Ctrl+U shortcut or the U button on the formatting bar to turn on underlining, do it again to turn off underlining before tabbing to the next text. If a border is being created by the AutoFormat As You Type feature, you can immediately undo the border with Ctrl+Z, or use the Format>Borders dialog to remove it, and/or disable this feature using the Tools>AutoCorrect>AutoFormat As You Type tab.

    2. Trust me, it's just as hard on those of us trying to help!
