    How to find normal.dot? (XP)

    Hello,

The attached scrn. shot shows my search on a PC with Office XP to find the normal.dot file.

It came back with the message that no files were found.

How can I make WinXP search for this file?

    Thanks.

Re: How to find normal.dot? (XP)

I had no problems with the same query. Normally, this file (in Windows 2000 and XP) resides in %systemroot%ocuments and Settings{username}Application DataMicrosoftTemplates.

I suspect you are not instructing XP's search to look in system folders and hidden files and folders. Click on the More Advanced Options button to specify these items and try your search again.
