    Word as e-mail editor (XP)

We just upgraded to XP and, by default, Word is set as the e-mail editor. One problem I noticed so far is that I can't insert a signature as easily.
What other differences are there OR what are the pros and cons of Word as your e-mail editor? Should I switch it off?

    Thanks - Nancy

Others will disagree, but I still don't like Word as e-mail editor. One of the problems it causes is that Word or Outlook will remain in memory when you don't expect it to. So I recommend not using Word as e-mail editor in Outlook.

I agree with Hans, do not use Word as your email editor,.

Just a guess... I think you would save your signatures as AutoText and then you could insert them in the usual way, e.g.,

    type sigwork and press F3

Usually AutoText names will be recognized after 3-4 characters so you don't even have to type the whole thing.

That said, I also prefer to use the Outlook editor for mail. Fewer complications when I pause to take a call or try to open a document (fewer apps tied up waiting for some other app to finish).
