    Crosstab Query - Grouping (Access XP)

    I'm trying to solve a crosstab problem.

    I've written a query to extract the info I need, then I have a
    Crosstab query to generate the crosstabed version.

    It works fine apart from 1 problem. I want to show expenditure by
    various headings (rows) by month incurred. When asked (in the wizard)
    to choose "which interval" I want to group my Date/Time info, I
    initially chose "Month".

    This gives me a total of all January expenditure, then all Feb etc.
    but it groups all Januarys, across all three years that I hold data.
    If I choose Date/Time, I get the data in the right order, but grouped
    by individual date, so I get individual entries, rather than month
    totals.

    Can I not group by month within year inside the Crosstab query, or do
    I need to do this in advance?

    Try a format in there like:
    Format(YourDate, "yyyy mmm")
    If you want another format just change the mask in the formart.
