MyIE2

I found this free browser MyIE2 in this mornings newspaper & decided to try it. Thus far it has performed above expectations & the more I play the more features I find. It appears to be a clone of IE but has all the options of Mozilla (tabs, etc.) plus some. Installation is a snap; unzip & click the executable (.exe) . IE favorites and settings are auto magically imported and there is an optional Outlook button for the tool bar. Also an uninstall option is available on you START menu should you decide that you don't like it.

I've been a fan of it since Ken posted a link to it here in Other Browsers. It uses the IE 'engine', but seems so much more civilized to me!

Mark: this one may be able to out do Mozilla.
I have Mozilla on my other machine & really like it but I'm beginning to favor MyIE2.
The test of time will tell. I have only been using MyIE2 for 2 days now.

Re: MyIE2

I may give it a shot again soon, but I recall testing it a few months ago and not really liking the interface. It seemed a little too busy and I did not want to spend time learning how to modify it.

What really is critical is that it uses the IE engine to render pages, making it vulnerable to exploits just like IE itself. Since IE is so tightly integrated into Windows, you cannot avoid patching it even if you would like to, but the risk is mitigated when you do not use it for general browsing.

Still, I think MyIE2 is maturing rapidly, and is an excellent alternative, and I believe I have just talked myself into downloading it with your encouragement.
