    Heading Styles (Word 2000)

<img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15> I work in a law firm WP department. We're going through a huge conversion project. My question is, is there a way that I can create a macro that can find and replace Heading Styles? Here's the catch...they do not want us to use macros. Is there a way that the macro can be executed and after it has done all it supposed to do, detached itself from the document? I really hope that made sense.

I appreciate any help that comes my way. I'm new to VBA so all my feeble attempts has failed---royally! Sincerely, JayJayJones03

    Re: Heading Styles (Word 2000)

Are the headings in the documents consistently formatted as Heading1, Heading2 etc. If so then you could create a new template, and attach it to the document using Tools > Templates and Add Ins... You will notice a check box that says "Automatically Update Document Styles" this will cause the styles from your template to overwrite the ones in the document.

If you want to do this with a Macro then you could create the Macro in a document that only you use. This could open all the documents in a folder, attach the required template, save each document and close it. The Macro would not need to be included into the documents themselves.

Is this enough to get you started?
