    Page numbering (XP 2000)

    Hi, a quickie...

    I have two documents that i want to join as 1 word document. One is 5 pages, the other is 7.

    I want to keep the current page numbering on them, so 1-5, then 1-7.

    can this be done? a kind of break and restart in the page numbering?

    thanks
    Thanks,

    Ah, its cool...

    <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

    a section break and then make sure headers and footers are not same as previous <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
    Thanks,

    You can simply insert the first file, the do insert section break - next page. Insert the second file.

    Now, do view header and footer. Click on the first page of the first document and set up the page numbers the way you want.

    Go to the first page of the second document. On the header and footer tool bar, turn off "Same As Previous". The page number will still display as if it continuing from the previous section. On the header and footer toolbar click the Format Page Number button and Click the Start At and set that to 1. Now both sections should be numbered appropriately.
