Table data to conditional grid data (2000 professional)

    Hi <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29>

I have a problem that I am sure has a very easy solution. I have rows column data of staff time worked etc but need to turn that into time sheets per person to something like:

    Person

Date Weekday Hours Saturday Hours Sunday Hours Night Duty Hours

    1 07:30
    2 08:00
    3 07:30
    4 08:00
    5
    6 08:00
    7
    8
    9

    NEXT PERSON etc

    1
    2
    3

Etc etc - now doing a query and selecting criterion (give me all the Saturday hours etc) is not a problem but the only way I can think about is setting a criteria in each grid cell for the information that I am looking for but I think there must be a much easier way of doing this.

Any thoughts, starting points or indeed complete solutions (if I am that lucky then I will have a Happy Christmas) gratefully recieved.

I am fine with SQL and writing queries (13 years of Unix Informix text SQL and last 6 years of Access query writing) but it is the ease of presentation that I am lacking knowledge in.

    Any pointers? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

You can probably use a crosstab query for this.
Click New in the Queries tab of the database window, select Crosstab Query Wizard and the table, click OK, then follow the instructions. Post back if it doesn't work out.
