    Linking to external server (XP)

I linked a bunch of Excel spreadsheets to our database and then built this module to perform an update from one click:

    <pre>Private Sub cmdUpdateTables_Click()
    <font color=red>'Update all linked files from Excel</font color=red>
    DoCmd.SetWarnings False <font color=red> 'Don't warn</font color=red>
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryWACUpdate", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryUnitsUpdate", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryReturnsDiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryAdminDiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryChrgbkDiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryHMODiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryMedicDiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryOtherDiscUpdt", acViewNormal
    DoCmd.SetWarnings True <font color=red>'Warnings back on</font color=red>
MsgBox "Done with Discount Updates", vbOKOnly, "Progress"
    End Sub</pre>

In test this worked superb. Then I uploaded it to our Citrix server that is accessed through a web page and it died. I think I need to have a way for the user to verify and/or change the file paths each time they want to perform the updates.

I need help with the code to ask the Path question and work it in.

    Thanks!

Saw that there was a lot of reading but no answers.

<font face="Comic Sans MS">Finally figured it out myself. Once uploaded to the server, I deleted the linked files and re-linked to the corrected path which is very convoluted. {Our office is on NT server and the home office on Novell}. Still need to write instructions for all users to update the links when they sort out who administers what.</font face=comic>
