    Office compatibility? (XP Professional)

    Hi,

I'm about to purchase a new home computer with Windows XP Professional on it. My laptop at work is still running Office 2000, and I don't want to run a different version at home if I can help it. Can I expect to be able to run Office 2000 under WinXP Pro, or must I purchase Office XP?

    Thanks!

Office 2000 will work fine on Windows XP.

Hans is entirely correct -- but can you still buy Office 2000 for your new PC?
With the push towards Office 2003 it may soon be difficult even to get Office XP!

You can easily buy it--many places show up on google, but how much longer they will support it I don't know--I would suspect 2-3 years at least Probably until what they are coding as Office Longhorn launches--maybe longer.
