    System Care Package

    Hey Guys!

I can think of several utilities that I love to have on my system; GIMP, IrFanView, AdAware, ZoneAlarm, etc. These are relatively small programs though, and I have an idea to fill a CD, or email with links to such programs as a sort of 'Holiday System Care Package' for distribution to my friends and family for the holidays. Bearing that in mind, what utilities do you live by? The selection would preferrably be freeware, shareware, or open source software, and would include everything from system cleanup to image manipulation. So, post away! I need your help to find the best utilities out there! Please post the name of the utility, where one can find it, and a breif description of what it does. This seems to me to be a cheap way of showing someone you care by helping them to keep their system running at the top of its game.

    Happy Holidays, and Thanks Millions!

    Don't forget iTunes for the PC and the Mac! its <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> <img src=/S/exclamation.gif border=0 alt=exclamation width=15 height=15><blockquote><hr>Tunes 4 is the best software jukebox in the world, with a great music store inside. Here's two I wouldn't be without (now):

NoteTab Lite is a <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> replacement for the Windows text editor. Lots of features.

Mailwasher Pro although priced at $30 I think it's a great front-end for avoiding troublesome email! The earlier free version should still be available, but the Pro is a much improved product.

Agnitum Outpost firewall would be worth considering.

Stuart, have you or are you using the latest version of Outpost? I used it for a while but it had a bug with high speed connections, and I have not tried it since the newer version that fixed that problem came out.

No, I use a hardware firewall, plus Sygate (that my employers provide) for my laptop.
My brother seems happy with Outpost though.
