dates in Advanced Filtering query (Excel 2002)

I have a database extracted from Oracle. It has dates in the format mm/dd/yyyy which are date fields. How do I express the Advanced query criteria */*/1989, for instance, to include all 1989 records, extracting them to a new list? Can't seem to get that to work. And is there a shortcut key to run the prior query, so I don't have to go through the dialog box each time? Thanks.

Assuming the dates are in Col A and A1 has header put in the criteria:

=Year(A2)=1989

The criteria column should have no label
