    Microsoft Office application logos? (XP)

    Hello,

Anyone have an idea where I can download the logos for Microsoft Office applications? Maybe somewhere on Microsoft.com?

    Thanks.

Take screen shots of the splash screens or the Help-About dialog boxes.

You should consult this part of Microsoft.com:

    Trademark Licensing
    http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/ip/trademarks/

There are details usage guidelines and downloadable artwork for various brands.

If you tell me what you are trying to do I can direct you. If it's getting all the icons to image or sub for any shortcut icons, you can easily do this by rt. clicking an icon>properties>wherever you have your Office 10 or 11 folder. Click inside the folder and you will find the icons and icon (or logo variants) for the different applications and other related icons. You can always take a picture of them and edit and resize it. I use this when I'm trying to organize shortcuts for Office tutorials, tips, ect. in my folders.

I know that many people make websites with the Office and Windows logos and the newsletters like CNET, the Beta sites, often put the logos or likenesses of them at the top of their articles day after day. What steps need to be taken legally to do this on a web page, and if it differs from making a cup or a T-Shirt and getting permission to use a legally protected or trademarked logo, I have no idea.

As to the lattitude of how you can use these images, Jefferson has very extensive knowledge there.
