Thread: Automation

  1. #1

I want to import and export data to a third party as a batch process during "off hours". The format will be comma-delimited that I am importing from and exporting to. I don't have great detail, just exploring possibilities. I appreciate any suggestions.

    Re: Automation

All you have to do is set up macros for the import and export. It would be advisable to import and export manually and save the Specs at the appropriate step - then you can re-use the same specs when importing/exporting automatically.
To make the process happen automatically at certain times, you can use the Windows Task Scheduler. Just have it run the name of the database with the switch /x MacroName after it. Something like:
C:My DocumentsDatabase.MDB /x Import

Post back if you need more specific details.
