(Edited by WendellB on 26-Dec-03 21:36. Activate link to MS KBase)
Hi Braddy,
I'm not certain what you are connecting to via OLE but I've seen similar messages at different times. Things I've done to rectify the problem included:
*a complete reboot
*removing the link and re-linking
I also saw this on Microsoft's site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...Product=acc2000
It describes a problem with OLE and Microsoft Word but it also provides some ideas that might work with other OLE links.
Hope that helps,
Dashiell

Hi Dashiell

*Make sure you're connected to the network server where the OLE server application is located.
*Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft Access. Then try the original operation again from within Microsoft Access.
*Reinstall the OLE server to ensure that it's registered.

Does this mean that Access is looking for an externel server because I am not connected to any server, so I don't see how I could restart it.

All I wanted to do was to was to put a picture in a table in access so that I could have a picture for each record.

NB I looked at Microsoft support it mainly refers to Norton Anti Virus which I don't have.

Thanks for your reply

See the thread starting at <post#=303021>post 303021</post#> for an explanation why it is not a good idea to store images in an Access database. My reply in that thread has a link to another post with a downloadable demo database that shows how to handle images.
