    Outlook Bar Folders (MSO2K)

Is there any way to put shortcuts like the ones you can put on the Outlook bar on a menu item or toolbar button instead?

    Regards,

    Select Tools | Customize...
    Activate the Commands tab.
Select View in the list of Categories.
The Commands list will contain links to Calendar, Inbox etc.; you can drag these to a toolbar or menu. Unfortunately, they don't have an icon except for Outlook Today, so you will have to copy and paste another icon onto them, or design your own icons.

    Hans:

What about folders that I want to add on my own? I know I can rag these to the Outlook Bar... can I add them to a menu?

    - Select Tools | Customize...
    - Activate the Commands tab of the Customize dialog.
    - Drag any button to the menu or toolbar.
    - Right-click the button and change the name.
    - Also select an other icon, or copy the icon of an existing button and paste it, or edit the icon.
    - Still in the right-click menu, select Assign Hyperlink, then Open...
    - Use the following syntax to refer to an Outlook folder:

    Outlook://Archive Folders/MyFolder

    Hans:

That works great... but it apparently opens up a new instance of Outlook...

    ??

How do I get it to "stay with the one instance"?

    Hans:

Also: is there a way to set specific icons for Outlook bar shortcuts? Like Web links (WOPR) I can set the link in a regular shortcut... how do I transfer/carry that shortcut to the Outlook bar?

Sorry, I don't know. Hopefully others will react. The same holds for your other question.
