    Default folder (Outlook 2002)

In our organisation, we've just set up a "Noticeboard" - essentially a mail & post folder in Public Folders. We'd like this to be the default folder when users open Outlook. Is there any way this can be achieved?

If at first you do succeed, you've probably missed something.

The closest you can come to achieving this is to use the Home Page option. To do this, it is probably simpler to "hijack" a default choice that the user would not otherwise use. A possibility could be Journal.

Open Outlook to the target Public Folder. Copy the address that appears in the Outlook Web Toolbar. Return to the chosen start-up folder (Journal). Right-click on on it and choose Properties|Home Page. Paste the address into the address box and check Show Home Page by Default for this Folder. If you change the View (in the View Menu) on this Folder, it will revert to showing you its default contents.
