I cannot get the Encrypting File System (EFS) to work. I am running a plain vanilla Dell PC on which they loaded Windows XP. The disk format is NTFS as it should be. When I try to encrypt a file or folder, I right click on it to bring up its Properties. Then on the General tab I click on Advanced. Now in ALL cases the "Encrypt contents to secure data" check box is grayed out and unusable. The Windows XP Help system seems to ignore all possibilities of encryption, so is of no help. I'd really appreciate learning how to turn this feature on.
