    Reports / subReports (A2K)

    Hello and Happy New Year,

I have what I hope is a simple question today.

I have a report with what i will need to be 6 subreports. The first 4 subreports display the information correctly but the 5th and 6th subreport do not display any information. All the subreports are created from queries. The 5th subreport has null records but I still need to show the labels of the null records.

    Thank you in advance.

Is the 6th subreport also bound to an empty recordset? Unfortunately, I don't think there is a simple answer to you question. Sub-reports do have a property called Can Shrink so you could try turning that off (both on the subreport control on the main report, and on the subreport itself), but unless the labels are in a header or footer, I don't believe the labels will show. But try it and see. I suspect you will need to work with the No Data event for reports to really do what you describe however.

If you need the labels to show, either put the labels in the parent report, where they will always appear, so put them in the report header of the subreport.

    Thank you Wendel and Charlotte.

Wendel I tried your advice but didn't know a proper code to use in the No Data, the Can Shrink did not work. But I found Charlottes advice to work out just fine using the parent report.

    Thanks again.
