Does anyone know of any code/program that will unprotect a spreadsheet that has been password protected and where the password has been lost?
A spreadsheet at work was created years ago, I need to update it, but the guy who originally created it password protected the file and has now left.

The following sites can help you do this:
1/ http://www.mcgimpsey.com/excel/removepwords.html - a vba routine you can use to remove passwords from worksheets. This is for when you can open the file but individual worksheets are password protected.
2/ http://lhttp://www.erlandsendata.no/englis...hp?t=endownload - a very good free add-in to remove passwords. It allows you to remove passwords for workbooks that need a password to open them but this will probably take a very long time. You can also use it to remove worksheet passwords.

I have found this download to be very useful. http://www.straxx.com

It adds menu options on the toolbar to unprotect sheet or unprotect workbook.
