settings dont stick in Word (word97 sr2b)

    Hi

In Word97 - when I goto Tools>Options>tab General & change the settings to Measurement units=Centrimeters.
    Then close out of Word.
I reopen Word & check the settings & the newly applied settings dont stick - ie the measurement units is still Inches.

    I've deleted the normal.dot. & then re-tested without success.

    How do I resolve?
Also where are these settings saved in Word? Do you think it may be a dodgy Win2000 profile?

    many thanks Diana

I remember some posts about the Ruler not remembering to change from centimeters to inches, but I don't remember the fix. Maybe a search here would turn that one up, and you could try the reverse?

If you don't mind losing other Word settings, you might try deleting the Data key for Word in the registry. This often solves mysterious Word problems. See Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000),197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000)<!/post> for details (step 4)
