Is the menu item grayed out or just nothing happens? Grayed out seems to be fixed by restarting IE (at least in my old experience under Win98 with IE5). If Notepad fails to launch when you choose View>Source, the editor settings could be messed up. R2 has posted in the past on where these live in the registry. Maybe a search would turn that up.

Try and do some House Cleaning, like removing the Temporary Internet Files, and Cookies and what have you of junk IE leaves behind.

From IE's Tools Menu, choose Internet Options and then from the General Tab use the buttons in the Temporary Internet Files section to clean up stuff.

WARNING: If you use any of these sites that need tracking cookies, like Online banking, or eBay, or similar sites, save the cookies first and then do the clean up.

If that does not help, then looking for the messages Jefferson had mentioned will be your next best thing. Once you find them tell us what message number it has.

    Hope This Helps.

When I click on View Source, Front Page opens up, not Notepad. There is an option to edit with Notepad in the 'File' menu. I forget how I made that happen.

Control Panel|Internet Options|Programs|HTML editor - or did you start with Tools|Internet Options in the Internet Explorer menu bar?
