    Modify a database (XP)

    Hi guys,

This is the same database Hans created in post 326884. I'd like to make the following changes to it.

    1. Increase the size of the text in the forms. At the moment I think it's point 10; 12 would be much better.

    2. Is there a way to have the Report generate to Excel? That way, it has gridlines, is sortable, etc.?

    Thanks!

There is a problem with the Lounge at the moment. I can't download any attachments.

1 What prevents you from changing text size in forms from 10 to 12 points?

2 You can export tables and queries to Excel, but I don't see much use in exporting reports to Excel.

    1. How do I do that? Also, some of the boxes are too small for 12 points...

    2. On second thought, I'd prefer just to remove all the Reports stuff from the database.

    Thanks.

    1. You can select a bunch of controls by dragging a rectangle around them, then change the font size. You can also resize them all at once, but there is no built-in way to adjust the design to a new font size automatically.

    2. So? Delete the reports.

Hold the left shift key down while you open the database. This will bypass the startup options.

Select Tools | Database Utilities | Switchboard Manager.
Click on the Reports switchboard and then Delete.
Click on the Main Switchboard and then Edit.
Click on the Reports item and then Delete.
Close the Main Switchboard, then the Switchboard Manager.
This will remove the report items from the Switchboard menu.

If you want to get rid of the actual reports themselves, activate the Reports tab of the database window, and delete the reports.

Select a report in the database window. Hit the delete button.

Lots - there is much more I don't know than I do know.
