    1. Try dragging or copy/paste from the Start menu, assuming you still have a shortcut there.

    2. I don't use this bar, so I have no idea. Does the one on the Start menu give you the same oversized dialog?

Double click the title bar of the Open dialog.

Shortcut Bar Problems (Office XP Shortcut Bar 2002 (10.2609.4219) SP-2)

    Hi,

    1. I somehow deleted the New Office Document button from my Office Shortcut Bar; does anyone know the file path so I can add it back?

    2. Somehow (again) whenever I click the Open Office Document button, the window takes up the whole screen. I can't move the window, so I can't shrink it. Right-clicking the button and selecting Properties, then changing the Run: command to Normal or even Minimized has no effect. How do I get the window back to normal size?

    Thanks!

    1. I deleted the shortcut from my Start Menu a while ago...

Try Help | Detect and Repair from any Office application, or open the Add/Remove Programs control panel, and double click Microsoft Office. Choose Change, then Repair (I think). You will need to have your Office XP CD-ROM at hand.

Alternatively, create a new shortcut on the desktop (right mouse button, New > Shortcut), and set its target to

    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10OSA.EXE" -n

Assign a descriptive name, then finish. Drag the shortcut to your Office Shortcut bar, to the Start Menu, your Quick Launch toolbar, or wherever you want it.

If you're feeling adventurous, try the attached shortcut from my All UsersStart Menu folder.
