configutarion problem

i have office 2000 sr1 and there are some annoying things
with access.
when i start it, it ALWAYS starts the windows installer
and gathers some information
before it works.
when i doubleclick any mdb file, access tells me
that it cannot find the file or one of its components.
BUT THEN IT WORKS NORMALLY
neither uninstalling and reinstalling
nor repairing office either
from help->detect and repair in access
nor from office setup helped.

any ideas?

Do you still have Access 97 installed?

this was a clean win2k and o2k installation.
no traces of o97 at all.

Does this happen with all Office 2K apps or only with Access?

only with access.
wornd, excel, and powerpoint do not have this problem

installing service pack 2
solved the problem
