Maximum Characters in Track Changes (Word 2000)

I have a user who is encountering a problem with track changes. The problem seems to stem from too many characters in the revision. Is this there a max? If so, how can she work around exceeding the maximum number of characters when accepting/rejecting the changes? Thanks.

The first place I look for this kind of information is Microsoft's WD2000: Operating Parameter Limitations and Specifications (MSKB 211489). Naturally, it isn't there. Perhaps some targeted searching of the knowledge base will turn up a specific article. (I usually do this using Google, adding site:support.microsoft.com to the keywords I'm looking for.)

Is there a specific error message that your user gets? If so, it would be worth searching the MS site on some phrase from that message. Not a guaranteed winner but I often find that is a quick way to zero in on the right article and save meandering through a lot of dross.
