Helvetica font/Acrobat (XP)

I recently upgraded my version of Acrobat (to 6.0) because of the message that always came up regarding a conflict. But afterwards, my presentation was missing the Helvetica font. Doing this upgrade was the only possible cause--nothing else was done.

Any ideas on how to restore it? What's the interaction all about?

    Thanks

Do you know where your Helvetica font came from in the first place. There is no font with this name on my installation of Office XP on Windows XP.

I have a vague recollection of installing it some time ago, but it's gone now. Same thing happened on my laptop. It's strange that the font is removed during Adobe install. There is some confusing note on the Adobe site about the Helvetica font that I didn't understand.

Sorry, I've no idea. Can you provide a pointer to the "confusing note on the Adobe site"

Strange indeed - the article doesn't suggest that installing Acrobat will remove the font if you already have it.

Can you manage with the MT Arial font that the article recommends?

(Edited by WendellB on 09-Jan-04 17:43. to activa link.)
Here's the link. I hope you can make sense of it--it just got too long and involved. But it kinda sounds like a slick way to get people to buy the Adobe font. Which I must have had, but the new install removed it. Strange.

If you haven't already, you might want to post your question on the Adobe forums. Maybe someone there will have some ideas about this.
