Need to reduce picture size (2002)

A power point of 100 slides and 100 pictures mostly of jpg format has boosted the presentation to 8 meg. Is there a trick to reduce the size of the pictures and reduce the size of whole presentaion.

8 MB for 100 jpg's is not so bad: an average of 80 KB per image. The jpg format is already highly compressed, but you might experiment with

Reducing image quality - graphics programs such as Microsoft Photo Editor offer the possibility to change this.

If the pictures have large areas of the same color, saving as a .png file may reduce the size.[/list]Your mileage may vary.

If you want to reduce the size of the presentation overall, for storage or emailing purposes, Impact POINTless does the job brilliantly.

To reduce the size of the image file I use "Image Resizer -This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click".

Which can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/dow...s/powertoys.asp, but this requires that you have Windows XP Home or Pro.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Actually, PPT 2002 has a built-in image compression tool, so you don't necessarily need third-party tools.

Go to View/Toolbars and turn on your Picture toolbar. The Compress Pictures tool can be accessed from there.
