    Word security (Word 2002)

While we can use password protection to prevent other people from opening a Word document, the first line of the document is in fact the title of this document and thus can be viewed without the file being opened. All you need to do is to move the mouse cursor to the file icon and the tool tip will shows the first line. I wonder if there is any way that we can prevent that to happen.

    Thanks

When you first save a document, Word fills in the Title property from the beginning of the document text. To edit this, use File>Properties, Summary tab. You might want to clear out the other entries, too. I'm not sure if there is a way to prevent Word from doing this, without replacing Word's Save feature with one of your own design.
