    set tabstop programmatically (A2003)

    I'm trying to make a tab stop conditional on the value of another control. Tried the following but struck out:

    If RatingID = "Volts" Then
    Me.AmpRating.TabStop = True
    Else
    Me.AmpRating.TabStop = False
    End If

    Anybody out there done this who could set me straight?

    This should work in principle; it can even be simpilfied to

    Me.AmpRating.TabStop = (Me.RatingID = "Volts")

    but I have some questions:

    (1) Where did you put this code? In an event procedure, and if so which one(s)?
    (2a) Did you get an error message, and if so what did it say?
    (2b) Related to this: is RatingID really a text field?
    (3) Wouldn't you rather disable or lock AmpRating?
