    Query Trouble (Access 2000 )

I converted a 97 database to 2000 recently. The problem is now when I run a couple of the imported quieries in the new 2000 db I get this error message "Type mismatch in expression". The queries work fine in the 97 db just not in the new 2000. ANy thoughts? Thanks...

If your queries use functions of any sort, even the standard ones that come with Access, it may indicate that you have missing references. In addition, some implicit conversions that worked in Access 97 may not work quite the same in 2000 - so if you are using expressions in either conditions or in the results returned, check those carefully for situations where numeric data is expected and you are providing text or vice versa.

One of the things that changed is that references to forms into query parameters must be complete with square brackets around each component. Otherwise, the query engine puts square brackets around the whole expression, which causes it to break. Another is that you can't use the column property of a combobox in A2k and later the same way you can in 97.
