    Profile Wizard O03 (Office 03)

    G'day All

For the last three versions of office I have run a program each night that backs up my office settings using the profile wizard. Since the upgrade to Office 03 I've been getting an error message:

"Cannot find OPW11ADM.INI in the same folder as the wizard executable. Please make sure the wizard is properly installed."

I call the utility with the following command line:

    D:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11PROFLWIZ.EXE /s "D:My DocumentsBackupCurrentOffice 03 Settings.OPS" /q /e

I've run the wizard graphically from within Windows and it seems to work fine. I've run the command from a CMD box and get the same error.

There is no OPW11ADM.INI in the office11 folder. There is however an OPW11USR.INI

Should I just rename it? Anyone else encountered this?

    Regards Ken

It is very unlikely that those are the same file! Try searching around your hard drive and see if you can copy the file from wherever it is into that folder. I'm pretty sure it would have been installed somewhere. Or, MS says you can specify the INI file to use by adding the /i switch to the command line. See this page: Office 2003 Editions Resource Kit > Reference > Office Profile Wizard. Maybe try that first?

G'day - thanks for the reply.
I've looked all through both my laptop and desktop (problem occurs on both) and the file isn't anywhere - is it on yours?
It must be there somewhere because otherwise the gui version wouldn't run. Although it does complete very quickly when I run it ...

I haven't installed the profile kit. Did you get a chance to try Plan B, the /i startup switch with the INI file you do have?
