Report probs (97)

Hi i wonder if somebody could help me out with these 3 problems,
    1. I have a report which can be many pages long however for some reason every second page seems to be blank??

    2. There is a text box in my report which displays the category on the report. On a given report there could be a number of different categories displayed. However Access only seems to display the first category see fig. 1

    3. When i export the report to excel the last segment of the report doesnt export across??

Many thanks for the help in advance,
    Rob.

I'll attack these one by one.
    1. Your report is probably for a portrait, ensure that the fields are inside the page limits.
    2. Have you set the text box's Hide Duplicates to yes.
    3. What do you mean by the last segment of the report? How do you export it to excel?

    Hi Pat,

The first one is fine now thanks, for the second one i set the hide duplicates to "yes" but it still only displays the first category. See the fig included

I export to excel by going to file save/export then clicking on external database and saving it as an excel file. It leaves out 2 text boxes where 2 totals are displayed when it arrives in excel.

    Cheers,
    Rob

I wasn't suggesting that you set the hide duplicates to yes, it was a question. Setting this property to yes will in fact show a blank when the category is the same on successive lines. What I meant to say was to ensure it was turned off.

As to why it leaves out the 2 text boxes I don't know the answer to this.

    Re: Report probs (97)

Would it be possible to post a stripped down version of the database?

Make a copy of the database and work with that.

Remove all database objects (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and modules) that are not relevant to the problem.

In the remaining table(s), remove most records - leave only the minimum number necessary to demonstrate the problem.

Remove or modify data of a confidential nature.

Do a compact and repair (Tools/Database Utilities).

Make a zip file containing the database; it should be below 100KB.

Attach the zip file to a reply.[/list]That would enable Loungers to take a look at the problem directly.

    Re: Report probs (97)

Just to let you know i solved the prob i was having. It turns out i needed to have the "MPD category" in the detail section to make it display different categories rather than just the first one.
    Cheers for the help
