    AntiSpy software => remote PCs

    SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware (etc.) all have to be installed on the PC on which the scan is to take place.

    Has anyone come across any such programs which can run on my PC (NT or 2K or XP) and target a different (domain-connected) PC (NT or 2K or XP) on a LAN/WAN?

    Or is the whole idea impractical because of the huge amount of data that would have to be shifted back and forward? <img src=/S/meltdown.gif border=0 alt=meltdown width=15 height=15>

    Brite ideas welcomed!

    Thanks!

    I don't know the answer to that, but... the only product I've heard discussed as a corporate solution is Pest Patrol. Maybe it's a centrally administered desktop solution, maybe it's a remote administration solution, I couldn't tell you.

    I'm not able to check right now, as I'm not at home, but do either SpyBot or Ad-Aware offer the option of scanning a mapped network drive? That might do a partial scan for you... I doubt it would get the other PC's registry however.
