    Permissions: Prevent Folder Move

Some of my users have a problem not moving folders around within a section of our shared drive. Everytime this happens a complex set of permissions for subfolders and files gets overwritten with the permissions from the destination folder. Since these same users can't figure out how to set permissions, I end up being their secretary resetting all the permissions.

My question: is there a way to use W2K folder permissions to prevent a set of users from coping or moving this folder and asscociated subfolders while allowing them to list read add delete and modify the subject files and folders.

    Re: Permissions: Prevent Folder Move

Are you not using Groups? Presumably you have some Users for whom the position is problem-free. Can you not set up a Group - based on a problem-free configuration - and then remove all the relevant individual permissions; replacing them with the Group permission(s)? HTH
