VBA Help screens (Win2k Pro Office 2k SR-1a)

I have a new machine with Win 2000 Pro (old machine was Win 98) and Office 2000 Pro. Problem is, when in the VBA help screens called from an Access module (or any other Office app for that matter), the help screen used to have buttons for "See also", "Example", "Applies To", etc., at the top of the help text window. Now aii I see is what looks like some kind of a place holder (square with a dot in the center) for each button. They have no function when clicked and cannot be selected with the mouse.

I have already reinstalled Office, with everything (all options) selected, but no change. Any ideas on how to get these buttons back?
