EnableEvents???? HELP (Word 2000 and Word 2003)

In Excel there is a way to disable Excel events via Application.EnableEvents = False. I need to do the same thing in Word 2003 because when I install an Addin the Windows Activate event keeps getting fired but the Word application does not have an EnableEvents property. Is there a simulair property in Word as in Excel and how do I access it

There is an old WordBasic instruction that still works to prevent Document_Open and similar events from firing, but I don't know if it will prevent Window_Activate:

    WordBasic.DisableAutoMacros 1
    ' your code goes here
    WordBasic.DisableAutoMacros 0

I use a global variable called blSkipEvents which I set to a value of true to disable event processing in my Add In, I then include
    <font face="Georgia">If blSkipEvents Then
    Exit Sub
    End If</font face=georgia>
    In all my event procedures

Would something like this work for you?
