    Service Mark symbol (Word 2000)

I can't find the Service Mark symbol. (It looks like the TM trademark symbol, except that it says SM.) I looked through the Symbols dialog box, but I just don't see it. Is it there?

Don't know if this works in Word 2000. In Word 2002, you can type 2120 followed by Alt+X, but the result (in the MS Mincho font) is not brilliant. You might be better of using superscripted S and M.

    Hans,

I couldn't get the 2120, Alt+X to work in Word 2000. Amazing...I would have thought it was a common symbol. Don't know how they could have missed that one.

    Thanks!

I fear that the trick of typing a hexadecimal number followed by Alt+X is new in Word 2002.

Anyway, although the (service mark) character is defined in Unicode, there are as yet few fonts that implement it; Arial Unicode MS and Lucida Sans Unicode are two examples, you can't count on all users having those fonts installed.
