Repeating previous record's data programmatically (XP, 2000)

I know that Ctrl-' will repeat field data from the previous record but is there a way to do this automatically for selected fields? I have a situation with subforms where the subrecords are subordinate to the master record and most of the time there are only a few fields on the subform that change from subrecord to subrecord. When the master record changes, I would want to restart the repeat process so long as I am entering subrecords related to the same master record.

You can use code to set the default value of specific controls on a form, which would allow you to carry those field values forward for each record you add to the subform. You would need to set the defaults in the AfterUpdate event of the subform. There is more to it than that, but that is the essence of the operation.
