    ASP Query not updatable (2000)

I have a query that works fine when I run it from the Access UI. However, when I try to run the same query against the same table from an ASP script I get:

Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005), Operation must use an updateable query.

I have pared the query down to basics to try and find out why it is not working. In its current form it is:

UPDATE tbl_Articles SET Title = 'xxx', Authors = Null, Source = 'ECN', PubDate = Null, Synopsis = 'qqq', ArticleText = 'xxxx' WHERE ArticleID = 1

This works in Access but not from ASP. In the ASP I am using the execute method of a connection object. The connection object is created with:

    Set cnn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    cnn.Open strCnn

where strCnn is a connection string that works with select queries.

Are there some flags/settings with the Execute method that I need to add?

    Thanks in advance

Re: ASP Query not updatable (2000)

I can't help because I don't write for ASP; the following is purely based on searching. Does PRB: ASP Returns 'Operation Must Use an Updateable Query' Error help?
ASP FAQ has a lot of info on ASP.
