Explorer icon on quicklaunch bar (XP SP1a)

Have just set up a new PC, and do not have a Windows Explorer icon on the quicklaunch toolbar. I found this icon very useful on my previous machine, which was running XP SP1. Any suggestions as to how I can achieve this?
    Many thanks, in anticipation.

Just drag a shortcut to Windows Explorer from any other location to the Quicklaunch bar and drop it there.

First of all do you have ANY icons on it?
If NOT you need to turn on the "Quick Launch" by right clicking the task bar select toolbars and then select Quick launch. It is turned OFF by default.

NOTE, also the taskbar is LOCKED by default.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Thanks, Doc and Dave. I do have the quicklaunch bar turned on and graced with my chosen shortcuts. Just wasn't sure whether I could add the Explorer shortcut by the same method.
On reflection, it's not at all daunting for me to format and partition drives, add and subtract bits of hardware inside the case, work with complex software but sometimes the easy things escape me!
    Cheers
