    Losing Messages (Outlook XP)

hey there ... I haven't actually seen this happen, but I have a colleague who swears that when she moves messages to another folder, using the Move to Folder Button on the toolbar, that she loses messages.

Has anyone heard of a bug regarding this? Or perhaps have an idea of what she might be doing wrong?

I have not heard of lost messages. To test, send a test message, copy the Subject (to Clipboard), Move the message to the target Folder, then run Advanced Find on all Folders using the Pasted Subject. A simple issue that is sometimes overlooked is that the sort order in the target Folder is different from the Inbox Folder, so the message is in the target Folder but not visible.

Messages can be hidden away at the "top level" of a PST (where Outlook Today lurks in your main PST). There was a thread here on how to "see" them behind the Outlook Today page. Perhaps someone will remember or a search will turn it up.
