POP3 HELP (2000)

    Okay, here goes! My boss had a website done for his company about five years ago. The guy who did it is now unavailable, but I have the necessary details with which to log on to the host

    Re: POP3 HELP (2000)

    You are almost certainly not going to be able to get overnight redirection for email - like you can sometimes do with websites. Check with the ISP first, but you may well need to treat the exercise somewhat similar to a snailmail set up - except that you will not be able to get the old ISP to forward to the new ISP.

    Therefore:

define the new email address,
circulate it to all customers and key contacts,
wait, say, 3 weeks/months until the mail at the old address is only a trickle/spam;
terminate the old address.[/list]HTH
