embed custom fonts with outlook (Outlook 2003)

I am wondering if it is possible to embed custom fonts in an outlook email message. I think this should be possible if using Word 2003 as your email editor, and have tried checking the embed custom fonts box under Tools Options Etc. I have then SAVED the message before sending, but the fonts are not included in the message. Works fine on an attached Word document, but not an email.

E-mail messages usually are sent as plain text or HTML, neither of which can store a custom font. Maybe RTF (rich text format), but as most programs can't handle RTF, it's not the best choice for most correspondence.

I, too, am looking to embed fonts in my email messages, using Outlook 2003's built-in editor, and can't find a way. Figures that I just paid for a truetype font containing my printed handwriting... :-(
